Inaugurated in 2011, the IFE Business School’s Distinguished Lecture Series brings public speakers of the highest status from the worlds of academia, business, the arts and civil society to share their thoughts and ideas on matters arising. The purpose of the series is to provoke discussion and debate about a range of topics and subjects of national relevance. The DLS topics includes ‘Leadership Delinquency and the Pursuit of Poverty’ it was delivered by Prof. Pat Utomi of Lagos Business School and Founder Centre for Value Leadership (CVL), ‘Entrepreneurship and Innovation: Catalyst for Sustainable National Development’ which was delivered by James Plasman, the Chief Economic Officer at the U.S. Consulate, Lagos, and ‘Driving Nigerian Economic Growth Through Entrepreneurship’ which was delivered by the former Governor of Cross River State, H.E. Donald Duke.  The agenda for the DLS is deliberately kept broad and the lectures are intended to be accessible to policy makers and the general audience.



The Eminent Persons’ Lecture Series (EPLS) is aimed at promoting good leadership and rewarding excellence. It serves as a platform for great intellectual discourse for national issues where thought leaders and renowned experts are invited around the world to discuss relevant subjects. The event is organized in honour of very distinguished individuals and exceptional Nigerians who have displayed high integrity and noble character in their various individual contributions to humanity, national as well as international development. The maiden edition was organized in honour of Nigeria’s Former Head of State (Interim), H.E. Chief Ernest A. Shonekan, GCFR, CBE in recognition of his selfless contributions to the peace, unity and general development of Nigeria.



The Oba Sijuwade Annual Lectures and Awards (OSALA) Series provides excellent forum for leaders, traditional rulers, senior executives in the public and private sectors and policy makers to address pertinent leadership issues in Nigeria and Africa in general to share their insights. The annual lecture serves as key instrument to constructively contribute to nation building and national development. The lecture also provide roadmap for the nation which at present is groping for direction and fresh vistas, and generate ideas that will propel national political and economic development of the country. Established in 2012, OSALA was instituted in recognition of the invaluable contributions of the Late Oba Okunade Sijuwade, the 49th Ooni of Ife, to the advancement of the course of Yoruba people worldwide.



The presentation of Distinguished Leadership Awards is intended to recognize excellence in leadership and good governance. The award is given to outstanding and exceptional persons who have displayed high integrity and noble character in their various contributions to the socio-economic development of the Nigerian state, in particular, and black race in general.
