The Management of the IFE Business School, Ile-Ife, is hereby delighted to inform the general public of the upcoming Third (3rd) Oba Okunade Sijuwade Annual Leadership Lecture and Awards in honour of our very revered former grand patron and monarch; Ooni Olubuse II, Late Oba Okunade Sijuwade. The lecture was initially scheduled for September 2015 before the Late Oba Sijuwade joined his ancestors. It is in this regard that the Planning Committee hereby has the honour to invite you as Special Guest at this memorial lecture.
The Lecture Series was instituted in 2012, in recognition of the invaluable contributions of the 50th Ooni of Ife, Late Oba Okunade Sijuwade, Olubuse II, to the development of Ile-Ife in particular and the advancement of the course of Yoruba people worldwide. The Oba Sijuwade Annual Leadership Lecture and Awards Series now Oba Sijuwade Memorial Lecture Series provides excellent forum for leaders to address pertinent leadership issues in Nigeria and Africa in general to share their insights. The annual lecture serves as key instrument to constructively contribute to nation building and provide a roadmap for the nation which is groping for fresh vistas, and also generates ideas that will propel national political and economic development of the country. Consequently, the management of IFE Business School; the organiser of this annual event, has decided to sustain the legacies of the great monarch through this annual lecture.
The Lecture is scheduled to take place on Thursday 28th July, 2016 by 2:00pm at the Conference Centre, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. The Lecture Topic is, ‘Ethics, Governance and the Challenges of Leadership’. The lecture will be delivered by Prof. Olusola Akinrinade, Provost, Anti-Corruption Academy of Nigeria, Abuja, under the Chairmanship of HRH. Alhaji (Dr.) YahayaAbubakar, CFR, Etsu Nupe and His Excellency, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, GCON, The Vice President, Federal Republic of Nigeria as Special Guest of Honour. H.I.M. Ooni Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, is the Royal Father of the Day.
The event will be graced by more than Two Hundred (200) dignitaries including traditional rulers, top government officials, captains of industries, chief executives, as well as the academia across the country and beyond.
